I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Computational Biology and a minor in Spanish Language and Culture. In addition to Biology, I studied Java, Python, SQL, and other programming languages, as well as conceptual and mathematical knowledge relevant to computer science. I am also well versed in reading, interpreting, and writing scientific literature. My practical experience includes researching and using computational techniques to identify trans splicing events within the genome of Hydractinia. During that time, I utilized the Center for Research Computing compute cluster at University of Pittsburgh to perform sequence alignments, identify sequence motifs, and investigate orthologous genes. I have experience with a range of things from analyzing large datasets to producing professional writing reports and detailed summaries.
