I served as laboratory technician. In this, I became a consultant to a wide variety of projects, from R&D to process control, and managed maintenance/troubleshooting/repair on the instrumentation to ensure the best possible results. During my tenure at Eastman, my analytical expertise was expanded to include NMR, molecular spectroscopy, microscopy, as well as surface sensitive analysis, such as XPS, XRD, and adsorption techniques. Through these techniques, I have been exposed and blessed to learn a plethora of different chemistries, ranging from plastics to electronics. I pursued more sustainable routes of organic synthesis, involving enzyme catalysis, in order to create more pure compounds with a lower environmental impact. I served as part of the life cycle analysis team.In addition to the chemistry, I've been able to participate at the national and local chapter of the American Chemistry Society and have aided in National Chemistry Week/ Engineer's Week efforts to embed scientific curiosity in the minds of the next generation of scientists and engineers. The most rewarding part was to see the excitement for science lighting up the children's faces.

I was the first line when customers were unhappy with the product or service they received. I was also the first line between my employees and upper management of the restaurant. I worked as a negotiator, trying to bring the multiple sides to an agreement that benefited all parties involved. This position also placed me in a position to manage the crew and scheduling.
