I was tasked with keeping the official record of each SwampDogs home baseball game. This requires an in-depth knowledge of baseball rules and how to apply them to correct situations. Also helped with game night operations and related tasks, plus digital video and graphic design for scoreboard operation. Position ended with team ceasing operations.

Much of my job centered around multimedia and interaction. Project manager for many Web initiatives, including our network of niche sites. Also coordinated our Web and print interaction, focusing on finding ways to build our projects through different platforms and use those to interact with our readers. Much of the rest of my job was spent finding ways to connect our readers with our products in creative ways, such as stronger promotions, social networking and non-traditional journalism forms. Extensive work moving staff into Web world, with use of video, audio, and multimedia storytelling, etc. Part of team that redesigned the paper into one of the most progressively-designed papers in the country, which also included a massive shift in thought processes and news production methods. Extensive work training staff (not just sports) on redesign and on use of computer system and Web/multimedia skills. Responsible for launch of co-branded high school sports Website bakersfieldpreps.com. Extensive experience with full section layout and design, including coordination of daily product and multiple staff members and freelance reporters. Extensive work with reporters on molding stories to make them more important and relevant to our readers.
