Solar Energy Developer

An employee, who possesses the necessary knowledge and skills through experience and training to work and direct the activities of Telecommunications Technicians and other personnel assigned to the Telecommunications Department. The employee must be capable of directing personnel and planning work in a safe and efficient manner. Coordination of work with other departments including: ESCC, SCAT, ITT and others is a primary responsibility of this position. This position will be required to keep time for the personnel assigned to the group supervised by this position; this will include responsibility for scheduling normal and overtime work. The person in these positions must be qualified by training and knowledge to install, maintain, repair, adjust or program various types of telecommunication voice and data transmission equipment. Must have a thorough knowledge of the SCADA system and be capable of performing maintenance and repair on that equipment or any peripheral equipment associated with the system. Other equipment skills may include, but not limited to, the EMS computer various SCADA RTU’s, UPS, digital and analog microwave radios, fiber optic SONET multiplexers, digital T1 multiplexers, digital cross connect switches, automatic telephone PBX, key systems and telephones, electric and gas system telemetering equipment, transfer trip equip, power line carrier RF equip, trunked radio system, spread spectrum and two-way radios, and other telecommunications and electronic work as may be required. The employee may be required to assist Telecommunications Engineers with system circuit design and project planning. The employee must have a working knowledge of laptop computers. The employee may be required to assist in the training of department personnel.

Range communications supported to include field engineering, installation, and integration of equipment and facilities necessary to meet TTR communication and video requirements.Projects supported as assigned, to include engineering assistance in design, fabrication, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration change, development, documentation, and integration of approved projects. Support as assigned, to include integration of system modifications, range reconfigurations and new facility buildups. These activities are further defined as those relative to ECP’s and the planning, proposal and implementation of modifications, improvement and upgrades.Equipment relocation to include cost analysis optimization studies, engineering studies, integration and installation in support of range growth or other requirements.Inoperative systems support as assigned to include field-engineering actions necessary to return equipment/systems to operational status. TEC support to include engineering actions on equipment and software changes and additions relative to short-term operational test programs.Support the Configuration Management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to TTR equipment or facilities, the generation of change requests to improve operability/reliability/maintainability, and ensuring that applicable CM standards are adhered to.Assists in identifying sources of spare parts for systems.Complex system analysis and troubleshooting to assist in returning mission support systems to operational availability status when required.-Fiber Optics theory-Electromagnetic waves, antennas-Optical systems-Communications systems (analog, digital and voice)-Video signal processing and recording-Microwave Transmission-Static/dynamic systems calibration (radar and data)-Spectrum Analysis-Project Management-FM/VHF/UHF Systems

Perform operation, maintenance, and installation, of open-wire, fiber optic, carrier cable, microwave communication, tactical radio, weapons scoring and range instrumentation systems. Examine work orders and wiring diagram to determine installation or repair procedures. Inspect connections, fittings, and installed wire and cable sections for conformance to specifications. Install, test, and repair communications equipment, such as intercom systems, wired alarms, switchboards, telegraphs, and telephones using schematic diagrams, testing devices, and hand tools. Test newly installed equipment and repairs or replaces faulty equipment, utilizing complex test equipment. Assist Engineers, Field Engineer and sub-contractor with installation of equipment as directed by CIS/Communication Manager. Maintain equipment and analyzes operational malfunctioning with testing devices, such as oscilloscopes, generators, meters, and electric bridges, to locate and diagnose nature of defect and necessary repairs. Examine mechanism and disassembles components to replace, clean, adjust or repair parts, wires, switches, relays, circuits, or signaling units. Electronic Warefare Tech in the Advanced Electronic Field (AEF) repaired and conducted preventive maintenance on computer-controlled electronic equipment used for detection, analysis, and identification of radar emissions. Also performing duties as equipment operators, conducting a variety of specialized duties associated with the collection and processing of airborne, shipborne, and land-based radar signals. I operate electronic intelligence receiving and direction finding systems, analysis terminals, and associated computer equipment. Systems I operate and maintain produce high-power jamming signals used to deceive electronic sensors and defeat radar guided weapons systems.General DutiesPerform systems maintenance and operations. Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents.As a technician, apply technical knowledge in troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes. Work that requires understanding of the interrelationships of analog, digital, mechanical, and RF operating system diagnostics and circuits. Make circuit analyses, calculates waveforms, and traces relationships in signal flow. Use complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, computer analytical equipment. Provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.Performs organizational and intermediate, and depot-level maintenance on assigned equipment and system operation. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices.Cross-trained and qualified to operate at least two additional EW system.
