I am currently embarking on a new adventure as an Application Scientist in support of instrument sales at Applied Photophysics. This position will utilize my previously acquired expertise in biophysics as well as my skills in managing client interactions and accounts. Updates will soon follow. My previous role was as a Principal Scientist at Ichor Life Sciences, Inc., a pre-clinical contract research organization (CRO) specializing in age-related diseases. I was both a client-facing study director and team lead of an excellent group of biophysical research scientists in Ichor's Discovery unit, where we specialized in Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI), Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Fluorescence Polarization (FP), and multidimensional protein NMR with applications in drug discovery. I possess extensive experience in assay R&D and pride myself in the fast turnaround of high-quality data from a wide variety of biophysical techniques. I am proud of the motivated and talented scientific team I had the privilege of working with. My formal doctoral training is in synthetic organic chemistry and organometallic catalysis, however I pivoted in 2017 to specialize in biochemistry and biophysics. My experiences span the breadth of protein expression, purification, and characterization, biophysical assay development, and structural biology workflows. I am highly skilled at analyzing data and communicating it in an understandable and systematic way. My passion is interacting with clients, finding solutions to solve their problems, and satisfying their needs. My motivation is creating value for all parties involved so everyone is happy at the conclusion of each project. I have an exceptionally high client satisfaction and retention rate.I am a self-starter—motivated to learn, adapt, and grow. I believe I have demonstrated this ability repeatedly by teaching myself protein purification, 2D protein NMR, and SPR techniques despite my underlying PhD training being in synthetic organic training. I take personal ownership of projects—I am ultimately responsible for everything that leaves the company to be received by clients and it is my responsibility to ensure that all parties are happy.
