Brandon Steinberg is a State Financial Assistance Program Manager with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Temple, TX. His work philosophy is to continuously challenge himself and never stop improving. He believes that taking advantage of new opportunities, gaining new skills, and becoming proficient in tasks are all important aspects to performing well and staying motivated. Brandon grew up in Burnsville, MN and joined the U.S. Marine Corps following high school. Upon being discharged from active duty, he attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Rangeland Ecology and Management.He has served in various roles with the NRCS since starting full-time with the agency in 2011. He started his career as a Rangeland Management Specialist working in San Antonio, TX, Benavides, TX and Price, UT. He served as a District Conservationist in Lockhart, TX and as a Resource Team Leader in Corsicana, TX. Brandon has had two detail positions to broaden his experience, Acting Supervisory District Conservationist in Lewistown, MT and Acting Assistant State Conservationist for Programs in Davis, CA.Serving in different positions and states has provided Brandon with great deal of experience in implementing NRCS programs and leading people. This has also helped him gain a unique perspective that has been helpful to bring new ideas and processes to different areas. In his current role, Brandon is primarily responsible for the oversight of the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). This includes developing state guidance for implementation and administration of the program, as well as oversight of all funds associated with the program.Outside the office, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife, Mindy, son, Wyatt, and daughter, Mackenzie. He still serves in the military part-time in the Army National Guard.
