Hays Companies, is a risk management consulting and brokerage firm that is headquartered in Minneapolis and has more than thirty branch offices nationally. Brandon produced and leads Hays Companies' product liability practice where he worked and specialized in areas of high-hazard product liability casualty exposures; specifically in consumer goods, sporting-goods, commercial/industrial products, medical devices, outdoor-related products & aviation products. Brandon also ran operations for Hays Companies Duluth remotely from Minneapolis.

We opened the Hays Companies Duluth office in January of 2017. After three years of significant strides in the Twin Ports business community, we decided to hang up a shingle in the DeWitt-Seitz building in Canal Park. We've made significant progress since opening - consulting with some of Duluth's most prominent organizations. Our office is growing and we're excited about our growth potential. We feel that Hays Companies can bring exciting resources to Duluth and a fresh perspective on risk. I manage the Duluth office, remotely, from Minneapolis where I continue to serve my local and National clients.

I came up with the concept using my ladder incident expertise and helped implement the integration into the safety community.

Tricam Industries (Gorilla Ladders) is one of the largest manufacturers of ladders that sells into the US marketplace. As Risk Manager, I was responsible for analyzing, assessing and mitigating risks throughout the organization. Areas of risk included: hazard risk, financial risk and operational risk. A major risk focus for me at Tricam was products liability. The ladder industry is one of the most litigated consumer products in the United States. I directed and investigated product liability claims and litigation. Negotiated settlements and conducted witness interviews. Managed a network of attorneys during the litigation process. Analyzed loss potential and determined appropriate accrual amounts. Managed company-wide insurance policies, reviewed market conditions, prepared insurance renewal submissions and made recommendations to ownership. Managed the risk financing portion of our business - within our SIR - by setting reserves on claims and lawsuits using a Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS). Reported quarterly loss information and reserve estimates to insurance carrier and updated insurance carrier with developments in litigation. Oversaw workers compensation, intellectual property initiatives and vendor contracts.
