Lead the development group on major aero, design, powertrain projects for improved vehicle performance. We work through simulation, bench testing, rig testing, and track testing to identify and explore performance for RCR Sprint Cup Series teams.

Race Engineer for Katherine Legge IZOD Indycar Series

Head of Design, Aerodynamics, Drivetrain, and Electronics groups responsible for design and development of in-house racecars.Initiated major weight savings goals, compliance improvement goals, and aerodynamic goals. Aerodynamic program management covering multiple research and test programs including computational fluid dynamics, scale model testing, full scale testing, and race track testing. Oversaw second, third, and fourth generation vehicle design from start to finish including major advances in steering system, rear suspension components, front suspension components, vehicle mass and center of gravity improvements, and structural efficiency. Implementation of test data, simulation data, and rig data to drive vehicle design and optimization. Managed 14 – 17 direct / indirect reports through design engineering, aerodynamics, drivetrain, and electronics groups. Primary contact for destructive and nondestructive testing, material analysis, and high level mechanical engineering

Race Engineer Bobby Labonte 2003 season. Interim crew chief during 2004 season. Led research and development team during 2005 - 2006 working on superspeedway car development and COT prototype involving aero testing, engine projects, driveline testing, and track testing.

Race Engineer for Rusty Wallace. Worked on simulation methods for key handling metrics using ADAMS including early DOE methods. Implemented this approach on race weekends to assist in car setup. Also worked on chassis design / kinematic and compliance improvements.

Assistant Race Engineer for Alex Barron 1998, development methods for vehicle dynamics simulation using ADAMS, alignment / tire optimization studies and steady state cornering performance. Developed key metrics to analyze on board data collected and validate sim models.
