I am a smart, hard working individual with many different skills. I am currently enrolled in the Industrial Heavy Equipment Tech program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. I am in my first year of the program and am finding it very fun and interesting. I chose this program because I am great at working with my hands and am a very strong and hardworking person. I play football for the Edmonton Huskies football club which has given me some very important skills for the IHET trade. Because of football, I am strong; I have to work hard in the gym every day to keep up with football and get better every day. This is great because it has prepared me for the grueling work that will have to do in any of the jobs I may get. Football has also taught me how to work hard and stay committed. I have to practice every day after school till 9:30 and still wake up for school in the morning. Football is not the only thing that has prepared me for this job: I have also worked 3 years at the Ville McDonalds in St Albert. This job taught me how to work well with other people. In McDonalds there are all different types of people that I had to work with. I have learn how to communicate with people from many other cultures. I made friends of many of my coworkers. McDonalds has also taught me to stay committed to a job and not give up no matter how bad the job is. I have had many different experiences that has prepared me for the IHET job. I am hoping to start my apprenticeship over the summer and finish my schooling and become a journeyman in the trade. I am hoping I can work my way up the ranks in any company and be an asset they can use for anything they need me for.
