Independent Consultant
Outside Sales
Managed existing accounts and solicitation of new customers, selling a wide variety of products including tools, fasteners, janetorial items, abrasives, and bottled water. My sales numbers grew consistently. My accounts in the New Hope, MN store grew large enough that the store had to hire additional staff to handle the increased amount of product going to my customers.
Account Specialist / Warehouse Support
I handled one large account alongside two other people. I began picking parts from our shelves that were to be delivered to the customer by one of the other people. I maintained my warehouse section in cleanliness and did a continuous inventory count. I did a lot of work in making that job much more efficient. I cut the time that it took to do that job almost in half. After a short time, I was promoted. I then went out to the customer, delivered product, maintained inventory levels in their product bins using a min/max system, and placed orders to be picked back at our warehouse. I also did they day to day customer service with the customer's employees on the floor. I dealt with engineers, buyers, and end users at the customer's facility. One of my other responsibilities was maintaining product quantities on our shelves at the warehouse. We used a min/max system that was based on supplier lead times and the customer's usage. I frequently updated that system as supply and demand fluxed constantly. I dealt with many different suppliers and bought many different items, mostly in bulk. I also managed ther person picking the items at the warehouse. I helped in developing his skills at the job, and I worked closely with him in order to maintain a clean warehouse and an updated inventory list.
