About Brandon Teller

I began my educational journey in 2017, aiming for a more fulfilling career. Initially, I pursued a business degree at community college. However, my passion wasn't ignited until the summer of 2018, when I took business calculus and realized I needed a math-based career. From there, I delved into trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus.Yet, I soon discovered that professional opportunities in mathematics were limited unless one pursued doctorate-level research, teaching, or a niche position. Thus, I turned to electrical engineering, seeking a balance of math and professional skills for a satisfying career. However, COVID-19 disrupted my plans in spring 2020, prompting another shift. I sought a major that offered both satisfaction and the flexibility to study virtually, leading me to computer science. In June 2021, I graduated from College of the Canyons with an AS in computer science, mathematics, and liberal arts with a science focus. That fall, I continued my journey at California State University Northridge (CSUN), pursuing a BS degree. My time at CSUN was intense and fulfilling, as I juggled two jobs and spent many late nights studying, coding, and growing as an individual.Determined to secure a position before graduation, I landed a junior backend software developer role two months before earning my degree. This allowed me to transition from part-time work to a position where I could grow professionally. In May 2023, I graduated from CSUN with a BS in computer science and continued working as a junior software developer for six months. Then, with great honor, I joined the US Department of Defense as a computer scientist and general engineer, specifically as a radar test engineer at Edwards Air Force Base. I hold a clearance and have various responsibilities and achievements, all listed on my resume. I've been in this position since November 2023.I have also embarked on a master's degree in computer science, focusing on implementing machine learning in data analysis tools, with an expected graduation in December 2026.Thank you for reading about my journey and gaining insight into my educational and professional development, as well as the mindset that guided me throughout.Brandon Tellerbateller1991@gmail.comSoftware Engineer/Developer

Radar Test Engineer & Computer Scientist

Edwards, California, United States

I am currently a Computer Scientist and Radar Data Analyst for the US Department of Defenses’ 412th Test Wing operating out of Edward’s Air Force Base, California. I have acquired my Top-Secret level clearance, as well as completed my probationary period successfully. This position has given me mid-level software engineering experience by assigning me to a large-scale project and allowing me to lead a team of engineers who were assigned to aid in the project’s completion. The project’s goal was to digitalize the USAF’s test plan data packages by implementing internally developed generative AI applications and Python-programming organization of those generated test package components which resulted in fully generated documents as opposed to documents created from scratch. I also gained more mid-level experience during my time in this position due to the freedom that was given to me to pursue innovative solutions to different types of problems such as the Resume Parsing Project and the Tech Report Generating Project. I also have been given the opportunity of further enhancing my cyber-security and IT/Administrative skillsets when leadership supported my efforts to attain a CompTIA Security+ Certification. I also am responsible for working within a team of engineers on a Bomber-plane platform to perform data analysis, tool creation, and create raw data parsing tools in efforts to protect the DoD from avoidable radar malfunctions; this comes on top of my IT/administrative, innovative and team-leading duties described earlier.

Stem Tutor

Santa Clarita, California, United States

I love to teach, learn and continuously re-engage with curriculum, it keeps me mentally active on my time off full-time work. Being a tutor at MESA (College of the Canyons) is a pleasure because of the engagement and role I can play in influencing the younger students to make wise decisions and to think about their future more. I tutor Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics and English.

Jr. Java Developer & It/Administrator

Did Integration

Valencia Ca

I began working at DiD Integration, a small but successful SAAS company who focuses on the farming logistics industry, while I was still attending college pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree. I was lucky to land this position because it exposed me to a lot of important IT, database, and Software Engineering activities that I most likely would not have engaged in on my own. These activities turned out to play a crucial role in my position at the US DoD. During my time at DiD I was responsible for: answering phone calls from clients and solving their IT issues, engaging in continuous learning of server-side maintenance and company-specific cyber policies and procedures, database management WITHOUT the aid of a DB-managing software (because the backend was in RPG IV programming language), and lastly I was responsible for aiding in the development of a Java program which produced static Java code by creating Java classes, and static methods which converted the IBM RPG IV programming language into Java. This was hard, but extremely rewarding and helped me to become great at algorithms and developing strong code designing skills (abstract vs static, etc..).
