I founded the Legacy & Life Law Firm, LLC after a decade of experience of helping clients plan for some of the most important parts of their lives, for some of the most important people in their lives. In other words, I help clients in all phases of life – from helping young families as they grow, to protecting young or vulnerable children, to transitioning to the empty nest phase of life, through managing dreaded diagnoses, and finally passing on values and wealth to the next generation.Much of what I do as a professional has been shaped by the loss of my parents in my 30s. Aging can be difficult in an ever changing world, and the alternative is not any better! I've learned that since there are so many things outside of anyone's control, it is really important to take control of the things you can control.I take great pride in prioritizing the needs of my clients and strive to produce outcomes that are on time, every time, and exactly as promised. I find that most frustration with attorneys is based on failed expectations and I aim to set clear expectations and then meet or exceed every expectation a client has for me.I've been able to create a custom process around the busy lives of my clients in order to complete the work they need done - whether that is the simplest will, a plan to avoid losing everything to the costs of long-term care, a plan to reduce future taxes, or buying and selling residential or commercial real estate. All of these items require attention to the details of each client's needs and goals, and I make sure those items are not missed in the whirlwind of what can be an emotional time.Two areas that can be often overlooked are 1) the devastation that nursing home costs can have on a family's finances after a diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's Disease and 2) the corrosive impact paying too much tax has over a person's life, retirement, and for multiple generations after they pass away. I make sure that each client who has a concern about these future events has an estate plan that is drafted to be able to carry the burden of an unknown time horizon as best as we can anticipate.When I am not running my business, I like to spend time with my young family and watch soccer, college football, and baseball. I love the knockout rounds of the Champions League, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and the Minnesota Twins. I'm an ok golfer who is smart enough not to slow down the round. On the weekend you can most likely find me enjoying time with my loved ones, of which I am lucky to have many in many different places.
