Graduate Business Consultant
The main objective of this project was to structure the marketing and implementation tactics of a Home Network Card that offers financing for major purchases across multiple home improvement retailers. Together, my team and I analyzed market research to determine value proposition, advertising cost, pricing for new merchants, and establish a loyalty program. Further, we identified retailers to include in the network, and presented opportunities for existing merchants to open their credit networks to the identified retailers.
Graduate Business Consultant
The goal for this project was to develop a shared value marketing strategy, providing benefit to the community and increasing customer engagement. I Collaborated with 4 teammates to conduct qualitative interviews, providing a research basis for strategic decision-making. We then developed a shared value plan to market The Fresh Market experience outside of the store through “The Fresh Cart.” We also created a cost breakdown analysis using projected data to determine cost of plan implementation. Lastly, we presented our recommendations to faculty members in the Wake Forest School of Business via PowerPoint.
Windows U-Crew Representative Through Fluent Grouping
As a Windows U-Crew Representative on UNCW’s campus, I had the opportunity to educate students and faculty about Microsoft’s devices and programs. My main responsibility was to engage students with the features of the Surface Pro Tablet and the Lenovo Yoga Laptop. The internship was not focused on the competitors and comparing devices, but to allow students and faculty the chance to learn more about the devices hands-on. I was focused on showing students how the devices and applications could make their life easier, socially and academically. Another responsibility was to assist current Windows users on updates and applications, mostly the new Windows 8.1.
Curator Of The Wilmington-10 Art Exhibition
This experience was one of the highlights of my undergraduate experience. I proposed an art exhibition to UNCW about The Wilmington Ten, who are a group of ten people that were wrongly accused of arson in Wilmington, NC during the Civil Rights Movement. My main goal going into this was to educate UNCW students on the history that lies in Wilmington. To make this art exhibition successful, I was aided by Todd McFadden and Courtney Johnson, who were very instrumental in this Art Exhibition. Together, we created a website containing information about the Wilmington Ten and how to submit artwork. The end result was an opening reception of 25 art pieces and 60+ people in attendance, which consisted of students and Wilmington locals. This event gave me the opportunity to be interviewed by an instructor at Elon University and also The Wilmington Star News.
Pricing Specialist And Sales Associate
Working for Sears Holding in pricing allowed me to understand how inventory worked and how putting in an incorrect on-hand count could result in overstock of merchandise. Working in Pricing, I was able to implement techniques and methods to make it easier on other Pricing Specialist.
A. Zachary Smith Iii Intern
Working at one of the most prominent museum in the Southeastern United States was truly amazing. Being amongst so many different works and mediums really captured my attention being a Studio Art major. During this internship, I was between the 2 locations in Charlotte, The Uptown and Randolph Road location. My time was spent organizing student’s information through Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. There were 10 camps going on that summer through the Learning & Engagement department. When I was not organizing student’s information, I was in the galleries where I would take the focus for a particular camp and come up with activities that tied into the gallery curriculum. I was successful in creating assignments students could do with their parents, ultimately promoting family interaction with the featured art exhibition that summer, The Richard Caton Woodville.
Sun Drop Intern
My experience working with Sun-Drop through Fluent Group was enjoyable. During this time the “Drop it like it’s hot” commercial was huge. My responsibility was to capture students dancing and to show their excitement for Sun-Drop. Once capturing them on video or taking a picture, I would have to edit the media and post to social media. Incentivizing students with free Sun-Drop apparel and free 12-packs, they were excited to show how they dropped it like it hot.
