Managing technology direction and development efforts. As a startup we are also building a base MVP to deliver this year. In that respect my responsibilities also extend to investor relationships, fundraising, and overall budget management. Our technology is bleeding edge and largely untouched area of IT. While we are pioneers in this area we are also drivers of change in other verticals. Getting early adopters onboard with what we are working on will become high priority for my role as we switch from MVP focus to revenue stream focus. I have taken on the responsibility of the former VP of IT. Having helped build this IT organization from the ground up I now lead the team with 4 direct reports and 12 total employees. Having a passion for leading highly technical staff I have also implemented team based and individual goals to be tracked yearly. Developing and deploying a data lake and data warehouse solution using Microsoft Synapse and Azure. Developing and deploying Office 365 SharePoint and Power BI to the enterprise. Including collaborating with HR to build and Intranet. Deployed Jira Service Desk (Cloud) to create a ticketing system for IT. Constantly building automations and integrations for the various applications and systems to support business transformation and change as we build an IT organization from the ground up.

As the manager of Enterprise Applications I manage a diverse team of IT professionals. We are responsible for the development, deployment, and support or several dozens of applications and application integrations. Our goal within the organization is to deliver applications and integrations at a high velocity on a very tactical level. I have integrated my team across the IT function and we work closely with infrastructure as well as architecture groups to ensure our applications stay aligned to the future plans of the organization and are scalable on an enterprise level.

Implement and manage an eBook program which saves over $600,000 annually in print costs for the enterprise technical learning group. Manages the development of a suite of automation tools that actively streamlines the billing processes and operations for the learning group. Initiated a data cleanup effort by developing and deploying a suite of tools to assist the group in tracking and managing data discrepancies across disparate systems. Manages vendor relations as it relates to obtaining learning materials for the eBooks program.* Captured $600,000 savings annually through the deployment of an eBooks program* Enabled the learning group to operate more effectively, after a 50% headcount reduction, by implementing a data cleanup effort and a suit of automated tools which help streamline internal processes.

Apply business needs to emerging technology throughout the enterprise. Program a guided experience on Google Glass for engineers in the field to walk them through procedures. Explore and documented wearable technologies that would allow for hands free data acquisition in the oil field while also enabling remote, command center style, assistance to field operators.* Developed and tested several prototypes for wearable technologies that helped drive innovation around data acquisition in the oil field.* One of about 40 nominated to be mentored by the Chevron Fellows’ program as a subject matter expert in wearable technology.* Managed and mentored an intern for the summer

Managed an India based project team to implement a more reusable and more automated technology for extracting, translating, and loading data for major capital projects. Manage data for 5 major capital projects by networking within the project teams to ensure data was acquired efficiently and reported on effectively. Develop SSIS modules for data management and SSRS based reports for project teams. * Managed and mentored a high profile intern for the summer* Managed a team of 5 based out of India for both the data processes and the development of SSIS packages* Lead an effort to use modular repeatable data procedures to streamline and standardize how the group extracts, translates, and loads data

Program virtual world platforms for training oil field operations personnel. Research use of wearable technologies and advanced field based data acquisition technologies. Support the ongoing development of virtual world platforms enterprise wide for use in training, daily business, and research. Present the findings of the research group at various forums as well as all levels of management up to and including the CEO of Chevron. Guide teams of vendors, students, and colleagues to develop software and various technologies for the research group. Diligently drive the implementation of our research into the business. * Applied for a patent on algorithms used to automatically convert point cloud data to geometry* Implemented virtual worlds for training operators to 3 major capital projects which saw an increase in information retention by over 300%* Increased speed and efficiency, for the enterprise, in writing and maintaining operations procedures, by standardizing a computer readable smart procedure format.* Presented virtual world technology, strategy, and results at over 20 internal conferences and to all levels of leadership including the CEO John Watson

Apply my knowledge of programming virtual worlds to create several virtual world environments for many well-known oil and gas companies including Shell and Chevron. Networked within the industry to win a 2 year contract with Chevron to consult on the digital oilfield of the future.* Implemented a Second Life solution for Shell Norway to use as marketing collateral and recruitment.* Wrote an internal white paper for the application of virtual worlds within the oil and gas industry.* Prototyped what is now the unofficial standard set of functionality for virtual worlds within the oil and gas industry and is being used by several industry vendors for virtual world implementations.
