I wanted to learn more about Venture Capital during my time in business school, so I joined Alpaca VC in the summer between my first and second year to dive into early stage PropTech, Consumer, and Crypto.

Macerich is the most forward-thinking Landlord in the mall/shopping center space and I joined to build out a "clicks to bricks" team, where we helped e-commerce companies like Warby Parker, Peloton, and Rothy's open up some of their first brick-and-mortar stores. I also sat on a 6-person Corporate Venture committee where we lead investments in retail technology companies and innovative concepts in the retail space through our partnership with Fifth Wall.

I found my niche sourcing, negotiating, and closing on $50M+ worth of retail leases in major cities in the US. The deal that I am the proudest of is bringing Uniqlo to Washington DC's Union Station.

I learned the ropes from one of the fastest-growing real estate entrepreneurs in New York. I analyzed new acquisitions, helped with $300M+ of refinances, worked with property managers, and eventually found my home sourcing, negotiating, and closing retail leasing deals in primary markets across the US.

I turned down a summer of DJing in Ibiza to learn that I did not want to work in back-office financial services. Sometimes learning what you don't want to do is just as important as finding out what you want to do, at least that’s what I tell myself.
