College Program

Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Us

As part of the College Program, I worked in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park under the Park Hopper Role. I simultaneously worked in Asia Attractions and Africa Food and Beverage. I participated in Disney's Engineering Professional Development Study at Disney University.Disney's Engineering Professional Development Study incorporated in-class lectures and presentations with hands-on learning opportunities and facility tours. A few areas of interest included Disney Engineering Services, the Disney World Monorail, and Disney Imagineering. As a Asia Attractions cast member at Expedition: Everest, my role included all aspects of the attraction’s operation. I greeted and interacted with guests as they arrived at the attraction informing them of the roller coaster experience, all safety regulations, points of interest and history. I also operated the attraction by loading and unloading guests on and off the ride, making sure that safety harnesses were properly working and positioned, watching the attractions cameras for any problems, working with guests when the attraction experienced problems, assisted the opening and closing of the attraction, and maintained excellent guest service and experience. In Africa Quick Service Food and Beverage, my role included serving soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, frozen lemonade, soft drinks, churro and pretzel making, assuring that all products were stocked properly and regularly, and working at a quick service counter style restaurant. I received cash handling, food safety, alcohol service, and customer service training. The most important aspect of my time working for the Walt Disney Company was learning about customer service. No matter what, the customer always came first. The number one goal was to ensure that every guest of the Walt Disney World Resort had a “magical” experience. Easily the best job I ever had.
