As Chief Technology Officer at ABC Legal Services, I lead a team of over 40 people in the engineering and IT departments, consisting of mobile developers, Java developers, web developers, data scientists, automation developers, and IT/DevOps professionals. I am responsible for a $5M+ annual technology budget and have a strong track record of driving technology initiatives that drive business results.In my role, I have architected and advised teams on the adoption and troubleshooting of Amazon Web Services, and led an Agile transformation to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). I have also served as the executive sponsor and technical lead for an ERP conversion to Oracle NetSuite, and have championed a user experience overhaul of our web and mobile apps to increase user satisfaction and adoption. Using machine learning via Amazon Sagemaker, I have implemented a new approach to key business processes that replaces our static policy-based decision-making with a more dynamic and effective system. In addition to my technical responsibilities, I also manage our subsidiary company Docketly serving as CEO. I attend industry events and meet with executives from our customers to discuss our partnership. I have developed and implemented a new business operations meeting framework and cadence to align our operational, financial, legal, sales, and development teams. Docketly was acquired by ABC Legal Services in 2017.As CEO and Co-Founder of Docketly, formerly known as Local Counsel Collective, I have been responsible for the strategic direction and overall success of the company. Docketly is a provider of an Internet-based service for collection law firms, which helps them efficiently schedule and retain high-quality attorneys to attend short procedural hearings in multiple jurisdictions.I have played a key role in the development and growth of Docketly, including the creation of a Java-based web application using technologies such as jQuery, Apache Wicket, Spring Framework, Hibernate, MySQL, and JBoss. We utilized a cloud-based architecture featuring Amazon Web Services, including components such as EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudWatch, ElastiCache, Route 53, Multi-AZ, and SES. In addition, I developed iOS and Android mobile applications that include features such as geolocation tracking, and push notifications. These apps have been sold through the respective app stores.As a member of the management team, I have also overseen engineering, operational, and financial activities at Docketly, and have implemented an agile development process, serving as scrummaster for the company. My work included developing an API program that allows 3rd parties to integrate our video conferencing platform into their application, as well as building integrations with enterprise software such as Salesforce, Slack, and Atlassian HipChat to extend the reach of our platform.In addition to my technical responsibilities, I also served as an evangelist for our video platform API capabilities, working with prospects and customers to showcase the capabilities of our platform. My efforts contributed to the success of Blue Jeans Network and the adoption of our conferencing service by a wide range of users.

Technical Leader: Cloud Collaboration Applications Technology Group (2007 - 2013)In this role, I was responsible for providing technical leadership and web software development for a number of innovative products and services. This included the development of Cisco Jabber Video, a free telepresence softclient, and Cisco Callway, a subscription-based video conferencing service that utilized cloud-based technologies to build, test, and scale the service.In my role, I also enabled service providers such as AT&T to provide businesses with the ability to interact and collaborate with others using Cisco TelePresence, and developed the Cisco TelePresence Directory, a web application based on search engine technology that helps Cisco TelePresence customers find and connect with each other.I also provided technical leadership and software development for a web portal application that enabled service providers to deploy and manage TelePresence meetings for their customers. My work involved daily software development using technologies such as Java, MySQL, JBoss, Hibernate, Spring, Wicket, Lucene, Ext JS, jQuery, and more. I implemented Agile development methodology using XP, Scrum, and Kanban/Continuous Flow, and managed projects via Rally.Manager, Software Development: Unified Communications (2004 - 2007) In this role, I was responsible for the development engineering of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing. I led the development of 4 major releases and 3 maintenance releases, and demonstrated a proven track record for shipping complex applications on schedule.In my role, I also remotely managed a medium-sized team of software engineers and participated in various cross-company initiatives to implement code reviews, security standards, and blogs. I was instrumental in architecting MeetingPlace conferencing technology providers, including Adobe Connect and WebEx.

I founded the company chartered to create low-cost database solutions for the medical industry. I developed a suite of medical outcomes database applications used by over 1000 hospitals worldwide and a national outcomes benchmarking service that utilizes the Internet for data transfer.Our software is sold directly and through various channel partners and has received endorsements from over 15 professional associations. In 2003, we received the Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Award for Industry Innovation and Advancement.Throughout my time at Orion Software Development, I have consistently developed innovative solutions that significantly impacted the medical industry.

Latitude was acquired by Cisco Systems in January 2004.As Director of Product Development at Latitude Communications, I was responsible for the management and direction of web conferencing products that utilize Internet technologies to provide a real-time conferencing environment over the Internet. I oversaw the full cycle of software development, including specifications, design, implementation, testing, and release, and implemented Extreme Programming methodology to increase productivity and quality. I released six versions of our product and was a leader of the Latitude architectural review board.Earlier in my tenure as a Technical Leader, I also contributed to numerous process development initiatives throughout the organization, including the development of a test case and coverage tracking application for the quality assurance group. I was the technical representative for the joint development of the Sametime and MeetingPlace integration between Lotus and Latitude, and served as the project manager and technical lead for the development of the MeetingPlace E-mail Gateway and MeetingPlace for Notes.I was awarded the company's annual vision award after just one year with the company, and consistently demonstrated my technical expertise and leadership skills in my role at Latitude Communications.
