Recognizing upper-classmen who demonstrated outstanding professional and ethical attitude through leadership and service to their class, college, and profession.The AOSA has named Gold Key membership as “The highest honor for leadership a student of optometry can achieve.”Membership is limited to 10% of a graduating class.

As founder of the first LGBT+ organization at any independent college of optometry in the country, SPECtrum’s main goal and purpose is to provide a welcoming and safe space where members and allies of the LGBT+ community can come together to discuss and study diversity to achieve a greater understanding of the spectrum of sexuality.Ultimately, SPECtrum aims to take a step out of the SUNY communityto collaborate with other graduate schools and LGBT+ organizations for theopportunity to gain and provide new perspectives and promoteinter-professional collaboration. This will allow for an even largerperspective of diversity and therefore an even greater ability to care forpatients on both the medical and personal level.
