My current research is on development of high performance III/V photonics and integration of these devices with silicon photonics for phased array applications. I have cross-disciplinary research experience in semiconductor epitaxial growth and characterization, device design, fabrication, and testing. My ideal career involves diverse roles that utilize analytical, technical, management, and communication skills to produce new technologies not locked to any specific application area. I am strongly driven to learn, whether in technical areas or personal hobbies, and turn knowledge into applications. Here is a summary of my experience and accomplishments during my graduate studies at UCSB:• Performed fundamental and applied research in materials science and electrical engineering that produced co-authorship on 17 conference and journal articles• Presented independent research at three technical conferences and two UCSB seminars for non-technical audiences• Demonstrated strong leadership skills managing and organizing several student conferences and seminars• Awarded both NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship
