I have completed over 100 technology due diligences for $50M to $50B+ companies.After the deal closes, the work of separation begins. This is one of the largest, riskiest components of any transaction. Second only to a new implementation, carving out the ERP system has potential to cause significant business disruption. As mentioned, my sweet spot is taking on these very complex projects and ensuring go-live becomes a "non-event." Finally, IT investments can be made throughout the hold period in order to further improve operations and prepare for exit.
