I developed on multiple products that comprise a suite of medical database products for organ and bone marrow transplant. Thes products include:• an Objective-C desktop application (OTTR)• a web-service-based iPad application (OTTRMobile)• information exchange service applications in Objective-C and Java (OTTRFeed and Registry Agent/AGNIS)• a web-based application utilizing Java back end and JavaScript front end (OTTRWeb)I developed from conception to completion on the bone marrow transplant product. I gathered daily needs from physicians, coordinators, and other clinical staff, identified requirements, proposed and mocked up solutions, and then developed software to support the clinical workflow of large scale bone marrow transplant centers. Through this multi-year project, I have gained an extensive clinical knowledge of bone marrow transplant.I regularly identify potential pitfalls in projects utilizing the breadth of knowledge in the entire OTTR product line. I have led multiple software project initiatives for completing new functionality for customers. I engineered software that worked on both SQL Server and Oracle databases and maintain software tools that verify data and groom SQL Server and Oracle databases for over 70 separate customer databases. I solved specific customer data requests by creating queries to satisfy in a highly normalized database consisting of over 450 tables.

My position here began as a software tester. I verified insurance rates were programmed correctly and standards were maintained. With my background of user interfaces, I was moved into testing of our new web database for internal use. This included a customer database, a sales system, a support call log, a production programming schedule, and a development trouble-ticket management system. I did testing on hundreds of ASP pages and suggested design and usability changes to make our in-house work more efficient. I moved into a programmer position for the insurance rating. This was a production programming environment, and programming averages per module were maintained. I developed and maintained several in-house tools that utilized Microsoft Excel and VBA. I also assembled and published a 500-page comprehensive training manual.

I used Macromedia Flash MX 2004 to assist in the development and completion of the VIA Design Website. I also engineered an ActionScript class that did dynamic graphing of data. It was through classes led from professionals that VIA Design brought in and my work with them that has given me my strength in user-interface design. The environment of VIA Design was very creative, and I always provided unique ideas to solve problems during group brainstorming sessions. We developed these unique ideas into business applications using Macromedia Flash.

Cashflow Billing Solutions had a Windows NT Domain with approximately 5 servers. I was hired to convert them to a Linux server setup. I researched, built and deployed 3 servers to replace their current 5. Cost was important as well, so a complete project plan was created in order to reuse available hardware. Services included an in-house DNS server, Mail with Spam filtering, LDAP, Samba, fax service, and an intranet with groupware and calendaring. Full and incremental backup plans were implemented. From the software side, all user functionality had to be maintained from the Microsoft products that were being replaced. I worked with their current IT manager and trained him on supporting the Linux servers that I deployed. I created documentation for all the servers and services that I deployed.
