Patient Care Technician
CurrentAs a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Emergency Room, I work closely with nurses and physicians to provide direct patient care during critical and fast-paced situations. My primary responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient hygiene, mobility, and feeding, as well as performing essential diagnostic tasks such as EKGs and phlebotomy.In the ER, quick responses are crucial, and I play an active role in preparing patients and ensuring the readiness of medical equipment and rooms. I assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to strict health standards while also documenting patient care accurately. This ensures smooth communication between healthcare providers, enabling efficient care delivery.My role also involves providing emotional support to patients and their families, especially in high-stress situations. Being part of the ER team means I remain adaptable and responsive under pressure, contributing to the effective operation of the emergency department.With a focus on patient well-being and comfort, I help ensure that each individual receives the highest standard of care during their time in the ER.
