Starting off as a software engineer, he brought is vast array of web and cloud knowledge to help solve business needs in those areas for clients in a wide-array of industries, including health care, airline, insurance, finance, and manufacturing. He was able to improve application performance, overall usability, and create better and more maintainable codebases across several projects.As his rapport in the company grew, he took on more lead-oriented roles. This included tech leading a team that pioneered an emerging health insurance application on brand-new Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET 5 and MVC 6, Azure web sites and database, Azure search, and more. In addition to being a technical leader, he was a vital asset in project planning, management, and client-developer communications.

Helped to develop and maintain an employee-centric web application with a team of three other developers. In addition to helping implement Scrum methodologies, I was able to help rapidly expand the functionality of the web application, providing valuable information and reporting tools to the company. Development was in .NET 4.0 (C#) using ASP.NET MVC 3 and WebAPI for the backend, integrating with SQL Server, SQL Azure, Microsoft AX, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Windows Azure Blob Storage. Frontend development was done using HTML 5, SCSS (SASS), jQuery, and Knockout.js. The web application was deployed to Windows Azure Cloud Services.I believe in sharing knowledge with fellow team members to help enrich the entire team and adopt new technologies. At Orion, I gave educational presentations which covered topics such as data migration, web-oriented MVVM, and object-oriented CSS.Additionally, my work was done via telecommuting. Using numerous technologies, such as Microsoft Lync, FogBugz, Trello, and two custom-built, always-on “virtual presence” PCs, I was able to be a valuable team member and perform my tasks equal to or above on-site expectations.

Development was done using .NET 3.5 and 4.0 (C#), utilizing Windows Workflow Foundation as well as the Windows Service architecture.Pushed to start implementing new software development standards such as test-driven development, domain-driven design, agile methodologies, SOLID development principles, and more.I was also able to achieve my work via telecommuting. Serving only a short 3-month internship on-site, I was able to relocate to Michigan to finish my BS degree while still being able to work remotely. Upon graduation, I continued working remotely as a full-time software developer, later being promoted to lead developer while still being remote.

Personal Side Business specializing in WordPress-based websites, web development and design, computer repair, and photography.

Converted a static website (http://archives.fsutorch.com/) into a CMS-backed site (http://www.fsutorch.com/) using WordPress and custom PHP development. Design work was also done using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, later converting the design into an HTML and CSS template.In addition to completely owning the migration project, I also maintained and updated content on the CMS-based site, as well as creating content such as articles and being an on-hand photographer.
