Perform Quantitative and Qualitative analysis on drinking and wastewater samples to ensure water is in compliance with the Total Coliform Rule. Perform UV254 analysis to monitor the presence of organic material in WSSC source water. Monitor dissolved oxygen levels of water during various stages of processing using the Biochemical Oxygen Demand method. Measure the amount of Total Organic Carbon in WSSC source water by using the Fusion TOC instrument and software. Serve as primary analyst for all specimen requiring the Chemical Oxygen Demand method at WSSC facilities. Train new employees on proper microbiological analysis and reporting techniques for drinking water and fresh water. Reviews and validates microbiological data to ensure it is in compliance with EPA and Maryland Dept of Environment regulations. Completes monthly report summarizing microbiological results for wastewater treatment plants and WSSC customers. Assist in preparing and updating Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct quantitative and qualitative microbiological and chemical analysis of drinking, stream and wastewater samples using Colilert and Enterolert reagents and proper laboratory procedures. Responsible for monitoring the pH, conductivity and residual chlorine levels of the reagent water for the entire laboratories administration. Maintain and organize accurate records within water lab to produce monthly and quarterly reports as well as quality control logs. Perform microbiological and chemical analyses on raw milk, cultured, and pasteurized dairy products. Present quantitative and qualitative results for Microbiological and Chemical analysis in water and dairy labs to appropriate Maryland county health departments. Train new employees on proper receiving, processing and reporting techniques in water microbiology and dairy chemistry labs. Develop LIMS software to create an electronic filing and sample reporting system to be used by both dairy and water labs. Assist in critiquing and re-drafting new Standard Operating Procedures. Validate new laboratory procedure for recovery and detection of Cryptosporidium oocysts in large volumes of water. Perform routine analysis on raw, ground and potable water samples to determine presence of total coliforms and pathogenic E. coli. Prepare and maintain reagents, solutions, and standards that are needed to perform routine microbiological and chemical work on water samples. Analyze and maintain all records in accordance to the standards provided by EPA regulations

Performed specimen collection from dairy cattle at various farms along the east coast as well as animals from the USDA dairy.
