Whether it’s a child who plays for the local soccer team, the weekend runner, or an NFL linebacker, with every type of athlete I see, I’m passionate about advancing the treatment, management and prevention of sports-related injuries and concussions. This is the focus of my clinical practice, along with ultrasound Imaging, at Concierge Sports and Family Medicine.As a board-certified family and sports medicine physician, my experience in the professional athletic realm has covered many sports. I’m the former Head Team Medical Physician for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons (as well as serving as the team concussion specialist), Head Team Physician for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, Co-Head Team Physician for Overtime Elite (OTE), and Associate Team Physician for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. I previously served as a rotational physician for US Soccer, and work with collegiate athletes as Medical Director for the athletic department at Clark Atlanta University.I’m a frequent lecturer on the topics of treating sports-related injuries, particularly concussion diagnosis and management, as well as taking a very active role in its research and education. However, I also like to work with athletes long before they reach the heights of professional sports. As a member of the 100 Black Men of America, I mentor teens in some of our most underserved local communities, and volunteer as a supervising physician for various local high school and soccer clubs here in Atlanta.
