A former journalist turned strategic communications adviser, I try to help people better understand and shape the world around them. I specialize in political communications and strategies related to technology, science, sustainability, health, tax and financial services fairness and the fight against fake news. A quick study by nature. I’ve sunk my teeth into German unification, the European automotive industry, the information and communications technology and travel businesses, e-commerce, telecommunications, patent and copyright laws, privacy, food safety, obesity, European competition law, EU constitutional affairs, climate change, mining, luxury goods, solar energy, agriculture, aviation, EU chemicals policies, plastics recycling and public health. In each case, I’ve found satisfaction in helping people simplify narratives, build relationships and work together with others to achieve what they couldn't achieve unilaterally. My goal is to continue to make a difference by helping people improve communications that promote enlightened personal and public choices, by promoting evidence-based decision-making, and by fighting irrational fear, uncertainty and doubt and all those who abuse them.Specialties: European strategic communications, crisis communications, media relations, media training, association and coalition management, community relations, public affairs, coaching, teaching, writing and editing. I have extensive experience successfully managing multiple projects, people and budgets across both borders and time zones. As a side activity, I run a successful wine business around wine education (see link below) and wine promotion.
