10 years in the hospitality industry working across a wide range of venues from a high-volume steakhouse to a Michelin-star restaurant. Now looking to pivot and dig deep into software development. I am currently in my first year of the Bachelor of Computer Science course at Deakin. This will expand my understanding of computers and software, allowing me to use my passion of technology to solve real problems.What started as a curiosity of how software works, has expanded into my every day life. I am constantly seeking ways to use the logical thinking, and analytical skills acquired through independent study and university to solve problems. This includes automating current tasks to increase efficiency and performance. My goal is to continue solving these kinds of problems for other people in a more formal software developer role. I am eager to formally combine these technical skills, with the time management, teamwork and communication skills I have acquired as an professional chef, to develop high quality software and continue helping more people.
