Working on Pluralsight's 'Flow' application - visualizing performance via git metrics!Flow is a Developer Productivity product that tracks and visualizes developer productivity and project data—including incidents, tickets, and pull request tracking support—through Git metrics and complex integrations with products including Jira, GitHub, Gitlab, Azure Devops, ServiceNow, and more, using TypeScript, React, Django, and Java.On the Integrations Team, I was responsible for writing the Front End UI for the many critical services that come with a product that relies so heavily on integrating with other cloud or self-hosted products. This includes the wizards for setting up Integrations with products like Jira, as well as the Tracking and Configurations and Settings pages that come with ingesting very large amounts of data, with special accommodations to each integrated vendor.Collaborated with more senior engineers consistently and frequently and even led a few efforts while working on the Integrations team and product. Gained experience with ticket writing and distilling requirements from management and product into words that were easy to understand for not only other engineers but non-technical team members as well. Engaged with product and design frequently to ensure our staying on spec. Joining on the ground floor of a relatively young product afforded me a much deeper understanding of the structure of React and TypeScript programs in terms of architecture, version and dependency management, project configuration, and package publishing and maintenance. I was also able to gain a much deeper understanding of HTML5 and CSS while implementing the various UI needs that come with so many different vendors, integrations, and customer requests.Additionally tasked with helping with tickets involving Flow's Django backend, helping design and write endpoints that access a Postgre SQL database in Python.
