Ever since I was a kid, it has always been my dream to go to college. However, it wasn’t until I was going into high school that I made it a goal to figure out my major. Going into my freshman year of high school, I decided to choose business electives that I had an interest in possibly majoring in. Although I enjoyed the courses, I knew I didn’t want to pursue a career in those fields. Little did I know a required course called business literacy would help lead me to accomplish my goal. I recall one day my teacher giving the class a speech about a course he taught that he believed we should all take, which was the introductory accounting class. He talked so passionately and in detail about all the benefits of accounting: job security, opportunities for advancement, and more. After hearing his speech, I took the course and instantly fell in love with accounting. His speech helped me realize that I wanted to major in accounting and pursue it as a career. In my years of experience in the fast-food industry, my focus has been on creating memorable experiences for customers through exceptional customer service and meticulous attention to detail. I’ve worked in several diverse teams to consistently surpass guest expectations by establishing a dynamic and positive dining atmosphere. With ongoing studies in Accountancy at Northern Illinois University, I am honing my analytical skills and financial expertise. I am driven by a passion for excellence and continuous improvement, both academically—where I've earned recognition on the Dean's List—and professionally as I prepare for the CPA qualification post-graduation.
