Partner - Financial Services Practice
CurrentBrandon Miller is a Partner in the Technology Risk practice of the Financial Services Organization of EY. He leads a local team of approximately 35-40 financial services IT auditors in the Des Moines, Kansas City and Omaha markets and has over 20 years of experience in providing assurance and advisory services to a broad range of large and middle-market public and privately held clients in primarily the insurance, asset management, banking, and payments sectors. His responsibilities include overseeing the planning, delivery, and execution of projects related to the evaluation of information technology and business process risks and controls, specializing in integrated financial audits, IT and operational internal audits, and system and organization controls (SOC) reporting. He has coordinated numerous projects relating to internal controls and IT risk management and assurance, where he has worked with clients to develop effective means to assess, control, monitor, and measure current and emerging risks. Brandon has experience in managing large internal control-related projects and currently serves as the engagement partner on around 30 annual SOC 1 and SOC 2 (previously known as "SAS 70") examinations, which focus extensively on the assessment and testing of business process/application controls and IT general computer controls. A majority of his clients operate using both mainframe and distributed systems. Brandon also oversees a number of internal audit teaming engagements working with client audit personnel.He also has domestic and international client service experience in various countries (e.g., Netherlands, Chile, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico) and has supported his integrated financial statement audit work through multiple PCAOB inspections.
