Corporate Scheduler
Current
Senior Project Controller, Cm
Managed a portfolio of schedules for bio pharmaceutical & life science facilities, design, procurement, construction, commissioning & validation.
Senior Program Scheduler
Contracted to BART to represent client internal scheduling and manage the prime design build contractor’s (Hitachi Rail) schedule management for their approx. $1BB scope. Quickly & successfully onboarded, studied the CBTC program while reviewing and analyzing the contractor's four interim schedules in parallel with development and review of their five revisions of 20,000+ line-item contract baseline schedule. This was done all while reconfiguring BART’s internal 1000+ line-item internal project management schedule to meet the needs of Core Capacity & CBTC internal needs. Performed full schedule mechanic analysis using Deltek Acumen Fuse, while supporting each engineering working group with their technical review of contractor’s baseline schedule. Once baseline was approved, performed monthly schedule reviews of contractor’s progress schedules and integrated progress to internal element schedule at summary level for management. This included measuring performance & variance against the baseline and last period’s progress to recognize trends and identify risks & opportunities. • Performed Time Impact Analysis (TIA) on contractor’s schedule and what-if scenario schedules to determine the validity of delay and/or claims. Also, performed & charted resource & cost loading analysis on contractor’s schedule. Ensured integration accuracy from the CBTC project to BART’s other district projects to mitigate any potential conflict between projects.
Project Controls Manager @ Schultz Industrial Services, An Aegion Company
Hired to rebuild the entire portfolio of mechanical schedules to align to IFC revised estimate for projects awarded to Schultz at the P66 Refinery. Also tasked to take over the cost tracking & reporting to ensure the cost report and schedule completely align. This was needed in order to provide better reliability & predictability in the schedule and cost report. All 28 projects were resource loaded in P6 with estimated hours, craft and foreman crews assigned in order to review and level resources on the fly. Productivity is measured weekly in order to better forecast the schedule and final cost per project. Three-part S-curves and weekly forecast target earned value graphs, by craft are generated weekly in order to see each craft’s targeted manhours to be earned to stay on track. All data is derived directly from P6. The quantity installed tracker feeds the P6 schedule line-by-line for actual earned progress. Having the Schedule, Cost Report & Tracker all linked one to one ensures the integrity of the data for Schultz & the client. • Built out the entire Turnaround outage schedule for Schultz scope and assisted the I&E contractor as well as requested by the client. This schedule was an hourly schedule running multiple shifts & 24 hours a day for 14 working days.
Lead Scheduler
Hired by Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) Utility division to develop and build out the Oracle Primavera (P6) project controls (cost & schedule) presence for the division, particularly for the PG&E MHP pilot program mandated by the California Public Utility Commission. ($200MM+ pilot only) During the first year of the MHP pilot program the Project Controls department was put in place and fully functional. Eventually acquired two more programs with PG&E called Electric Vehicle Charging Network (EVCN) & Surge Arrester (SA) replacement, hired a direct report scheduler and fully trained a project engineer into a full-time scheduler to add to the team to keep up with the substantial growth of the division. At any given time, we manage anywhere from 30 to 90 projects at once with a weekly turnaround cycle for updating, reporting out progress, metrics, variance and/or schedule recovery plans in addition to proposal work for new projects. We monitor schedule, cost, units, quantities, engineering & construction resources all within P6. • As the lead scheduler for CEI, I work collaboratively with the clients, members of the preconstruction team, project management team and project executives to plan and execute portfolios of projects on multiple programs. At the bare minimum this includes; working with the clients to develop template execution plans and portfolio baseline schedules, progress updates, manage and generate status reports based on progress on all levels. Expert with Oracle Primavera (P6), managing multiple programs with resource driven earned value, and critical path scheduling methodologies. CEI recognized the value added by (P6) project controls in the Utility Division, so much that they hired another (P6) scheduler to take the lead on building out the commercial division in our San Jose office.
