While Opal continued to grow, it became clear we needed to find a way to scale all management and leadership efforts. I established a team of 6 Engineering Managers that helped split the direct report structure to no more than 7 engineers to each manager.I continued to improve Opal's engineering recruiting tactics, review processes, check-ins, training and education, and overall health and developer happiness while continuing to contribute to the Opal codebase.

Continuing to play to my strengths, Opal elevated me into a Director role. This was an exciting time during Opal's continued and steady growth in market and internally.At this time, I led and participated in the introduction of many processes and systems that empowered employees and cultivated high functioning engineering teams. I helped bring Agile, employee growth, education and training, regular check-ins and reviews, professionalism, support, leadership, and finally, business critical initiatives into the thriving Opal ecosystem.

After proving my skills, value, and conquering the many front-end architecture challenges, I was promoted into the Lead Front-end Engineer position.During this phase of my career at Opal, I helped select and introduce an important JavaScript framework, called Marionette.js, that dramatically improved our control over our quickly growing Backbone.js powered application.At this time, I started supporting Opal's recruiting and onboarding efforts and participated in all areas of the hiring processes. From initial contact, experience assessment, to final hiring decisions, I helped bring on roughly 20 excited and experienced engineers.

I joined Opal during its early stage startup phase. I was brought on to develop and maintain one of Opal's core product offerings. With my entrepreneurial background and proven complex problem solving skills, I eventually helped build the foundation that the Opal Platform stands on today.

I led the engineering team on all day-to-day operations. I was responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the full-stack architecture and servers that powered the BlkDot Platform.

During my time with IDA, Facebook's Application Marketplace was exploding. I helped create and maintain a handful of Flash based games and applications.In addition to working on FB applications, I participated in all development aspects of IDA's agency clientele where I created and maintained large and small scale websites and applications.

Entry level web developer with a primary focus on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I helped create and maintain a constant stream of websites for Portland Design Lab's clientele.
