CurrentBrandon is the managing Principal of HLB Lighting Design’s San Francisco office who enjoys collaborating with clients to creatively tell a story while infusing their projects with light. Brandon’s passion for lighting design began within the fine arts where he earned an M.F.A. in theatrical lighting design and soon discovered his enjoyment of using light to permanently enhance the experience of the built environment through architectural lighting. Brandon brings a systematic, organized approach to solving client problems, and his creativity and attention to detail ensures that all his projects deliver unique solutions at the highest level of quality. An accomplished collaborator, Brandon’s experience working across the breadth of the lighting industry showcases his expertise with complex solutions and diverse creative executions.With over 18-years of experience, his career has taken him across the United States where he has worked for lighting design firms in Boston, New York City, and now San Francisco, where he is proud to call home. Brandon’s wide-ranging lighting portfolio includes work in academic, civic, corporate, cultural, healthcare and life sciences, historic, hospitality, performing arts, residential, sports and recreation, and urban and master planning development market sectors. He has been honored with numerous awards for his contributions to lighting design, including an IES Illumination Award of Excellence, and in 2018 Brandon was named as a national and international recipient of Lighting Illumination in Architecture Magazine’s 40 under 40 award. Brandon is active in the lighting industry through his involvement with the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) professional organizations.
