In this position I provide psychopharmacology and pharmacotherapy lectures to psychiatrists, medical students, masters students in pharmacy and physiology, psychology students, and nursing students. I have also been leading didactic sessions for psychiatrists and pharmacy trainees. During this time, I am also working on research projects and advocating for the development of mental health care and the addition of key psychotropic medication to the national formulary.

West Palm Beach, Florida Area

At the West Palm Beach VA, I functioned as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist on the inpatient psychiatry ward and in mental health outpatient clinics. My duties on the inpatient ward included medication reconciliation, completion of non-formulary medication request consults, medication management of inpatients, unit committee leader, psychopharmacology committee representative to regional VISN, and education of staff. I would also precept students and residents through mental health pharmacy rotations. General mental health clinics, PTSD, substance abuse, and metabolic clinics were also covered along with mental health pharmacy team. In this position, I worked closely with the mental health team including psychiatrists, social workers, PA, NP, and nursing staff.

Buffalo/Niagara, New York Area

This position was a specialty residency in mental health at the Western NY VA Health Care Center. I rotated through and trained in substance abuse, PTSD outpatient clinics, neurology, inpatient mental health, and psychiatry consults.
