Neighborcare Health is a social justice oriented organization dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care to diverse and underserved patient populations. As the Health Center Coordinator for the Lincoln High School site, I provide administrative support for providers, conduct targeted public health outreach in classrooms, identify resources for patients with needs beyond the clinic, and lead regular meetings among the health center team.

- Conducted analysis using electronic health records data to determine the incidence and associations of negative health outcomes arising from veterans with PTSD and TBI diagnoses- Developed python programs to operate RFID sensors for mice model studies

Represented UW honors students and advised UW honors program initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

- Led weekly classes with honors freshman to aid in overcoming personal and academic challenges- Synthesized experiences into recommendations for future introductory honors classes

- Oversaw all activities within Grey Matters Journal, including outreach activities, article production, finances, marketing, social media, and general administration- Facilitated the creation of new national chapters at Georgia State University, California State University San Marcos, and University of Maryland

- Led the creation of a STEM outreach initiative, emphasizing accessibility and diversity in neuroscience education- Hosted sheep brain dissections and neurotechnology demonstrations at various high schools, providing anatomical introductions and college preparatory advice to 800+ students at 11 different locations

Oversaw the 2021-22 marketing plan for an independent undergraduate neuroscience journal including in-person high school outreach events, advertisement, fundraising, and merchandise sales

- Wrote, edited, and published two articles titled “Missing a Mind’s Eye: The Metacognition of Aphantasia” (Issue 21), which explored the neural basis of the inability to mentally visualize, and “The Neuroscience of Inequality” (Issue 23), which analyzed the socioeconomic impacts on brain development

- Oversaw the operations of all committees, with topics ranging from global health education, fundraising, local engagement, and communications- Led weekly meetings with leadership and general club members to review action items and set future goals

- Planned and organized student community service projects with local community groups- Promoted on and off campus awareness for GlobeMed initiatives based on global health equity

- Developed and conducted an independent study investigating the effect of localized cold temperature exposure on food intake- Analyzed data via python relating to the neural mechanisms of hunger, glucose regulation, and thermoregulation in mice models to inform diabetes treatments- Performed basic rodent surgical techniques, including mice perfusions and brain extractions- Hosted weekly data science meetings, working through python programming examples
