As a web application programmer at 50i50, I was responsible for creating, running, and maintaining data scrapers to contribute to a database of events that are mapped geolocally with a set of coordinate points. This database consists of, but is not limited to: scheduled meetups, movie showings, college class schedules, real estate advertisements, police warnings, traffic alerts, news announcements, and sporting events.I was also responsible for keeping the back end running smoothly, along with occasional tweaks to the front end to keep things efficient. Although I mainly involved myself with functionality, I also dealt with problems with the GUI and sanitization procedures.
