Brandy Austin is a Talent & Event Professional and a director and Emmy-nominated producer for television, film, events, and theatre. She has worked with Showtime, CBS, TCM, OWN, CNN, MSNBC, TLC, GAC, Hallmark, Oxygen, FOX, National Geographic, FX, FilmStruck, Cartoon Network, ITV, Lifetime, and many regional and off-broadway theaters, film festivals and tours. She is currently a Sr. Talent Producer at Warner Bros Discovery and has coached and managed many celebrities including actors, comedians, singers and speakers. She has toured with numerous artists including The Judds, John Cusack, Little Big Town, Kathy Najimy, William Shatner, Chevy Chase, Montgomery Gentry and stand-up comics on USO tours. She has produced and talent produced for many events including the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, Comic-Con in NYC, CMA Music Fest in Nashville, and many red carpets, music festivals, award shows and branded & experiential events. She holds an MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul and has also taught at numerous universities.An accomplished director and teacher, Brandy enjoys balancing a variety of projects in theatre, music, television and film. She has coached on-set of the feature film: Evergreen Christmas and was a Field Producer on the feature docs: John Lewis: Good Trouble for CNNFilms, Red Summer for National Geographic and The Way I See It for MSNBC. Recently she also worked on The Real Dirty Dancing (FOX), Your Honor Season 2 (Showtime), PRIDE (FX) and The Real Love Boat (CBS). With the Judds, she assisted Naomi Judd on their Last Encore Tour and also appeared as a recurring character on their docu-series on the Oprah Winfrey Network. She had the pleasure of assisting on Hallmark Channel’s Spirit Table with Maya Angelou, & Hallmark’s recent films: The Nearlyweds and Window Wonderland. Recent Chicago productions include directing How I Learned to Drive, Extremities, and The Kid Thing. Brandy has worked at Northlight Theatre, The Athenaeum and at Steppenwolf Theatre on the Jeff Award-winning The Pain and the Itch. She also assisted James Lapine on the Broadway in Chicago production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and was the Associate Director for Feather: Off Broadway. She has served as faculty at DePaul University in Chicago, North Dakota State University in Fargo, Centenary College in Shreveport, and at Belmont University in Nashville. At NDSU, she just finished mounting Into the Woods. Brandy has also adjudicated for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for regions III and VI.
