As Conference Chair, she was extremely efficient covering all the many aspects of the conference and handling the volunteer committee of her peers with ease and great capability. She has also served as the Program Chair for many conferences, which is a less-than-glamorous, nose-to-the-grindstone position. The conference has nearly 500 delegates and their annual continuing education relies largely on her ability to secure proficient, informative and dynamic speakers. It is a huge undertaking coordinating the session content, location, audio visual needs, moderators, accreditation, travel needs and anything else that may pop up in the course of the planning or executing the nearly 100 sessions. Brandy is a master of multi-tasking and makes it all look easy. As Treasurer, she was responsible for overseeing the MRPA budget and worked closely with the Business Manager of the Association. She also did an excellent job of representing our regional needs to the Board and in turn keeping the Regional Association informed of pertinent MRPA business. I also am a member of Northwest Parks and Recreation where she has been the Program Development for many years. The skill she has developed through the MRPA conferences has been a natural lead in to handling speakers and special events for Northwest Parks and Recreation. Northwest has definitely benefited from Brandy’s willingness to forward the profession. Brandy has earned a wonderful reputation amongst her peers and was awarded one of MRPA’s highest honors, The Program Leadership Award in 2002. She has a true passion for the advancement of the profession and has advanced herself personally and professionally within the field.
