From March 2016 to January 2018, I managed the production of T55 Engines and related components, as well as supporting sub-components of other various aviation production lines. Previously, July 2014 to March 2016, I managed the production control support for aircraft engines, transmissions, gearbox, rotor head, accessories and rotor blades and the related subcomponents. From April 2011 to July 2014 I managed the production of T700 Engines and the related subcomponents. I coordinate with Program Management personnel to evaluate out year program requirements to ensure we have the appropriate resources available to meet overall mission requirements. I use qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the health of our programs and to improve the program effectiveness. I handle general human resources management policy matters for the organization, with authority to determine personnel actions of significant impact and recommended selections of key employees. I have knowledge of EEO regulations, practices and procedures and comply with all legal and social obligations. I establish performance standards, evaluate subordinates’ performance, administer leave, initiate disciplinary actions, recommend awards, and hear and resolve employee grievances. I use key metrics; such as, direct labor hour productivity, schedule conformance, budget compliance, cost management, and quality defect rates to monitor and improve performance.

Supervised approximately 25 mechanics in the overhaul, repair/recapitalization of T700 Engines and Cold Section Modules for the Army and cross service customers. I observed work in progress and investigated work related problems, to include: excessive costs, low productivity, workload imbalance, space rearrangement and acquisition or development of specialized tools. Reviewed both immediate and long-range requirements based on workload forecasts and developed plans for meeting resource requirements. Managed numerous other personnel responsibilities.

Took care of the work center in which evaluation, disassembly, repair, modification, overhaul, assembly and inspection of aircraft turbine engines, major modules, components, assemblies and/or subassemblies was performed; specifically the engine assembly as a whole. Ensured mechanics had the necessary parts, tools, and equipment to perform the job. Monitored work in progress and handled issues before they got to the supervisors level.

Performed evaluation, disassembly, repair, modification, overhaul, assembly and inspection of aircraft turbine engines, major modules, components, assemblies and/or subassemblies; specifically the Power Turbine Module and its related subcomponents. Prepared kits with all of the parts necessary to assemble a Power Turbine Module. Had access to the DMS system, which I would use to research the historical records of the components when they were in question. I would update the Monthly Production Schedule report and I assisted in performing much of the work leader functions.

During the apprentice program, I rotated throughout all of the Engine Division shops, as well as the support shops to gain knowledge of the processes performed throughout the Depot. I was assigned to each of the engine shops where I worked with various mechanics, learning all areas of the engine. I disassembled, inspected, evaluated, routed, and assembled numerous parts of the engine while I was under the supervision of an Aircraft Engine Mechanic. Once I became proficient in an area I was able to perform my duties with little or no supervision. While in this program I also attended school at Del Mar College and earned a Certificate in December 2002 in PowerPlant Applied Technology.
