Mll Teacher
I worked alongside a co-teacher. We both had IAs that we also had to create lesson plans for. Our caseload was 155 in a k-4 school. The lesson plans that I implemented were based on current data and had to reflect their ELA curriculum. My co-teacher and I split the caseload. Many of our students were newcomers with 0 English language proficiency. I increased exited 4th graders by 50% before they moved on to MS. I collaborated with teachers and sent out regular strategies to use with MLL students via Google Drive to staff school-wide. We had half of our overall previous MLL students meet their growth expectation for the year of 23-24 according to WIDA ACCESS scores.
English Language Development Teacher
Middle School ELD Teacher for 6th -8th grade
Teacher
taught lessons with an online platform and developed curriculum for reading, writing, and science to English language learners
Esl Teacher
VIPKID is a forerunner in the booming online education industry in China. As an online ESL teacher, I prepare material, teach, and assess students ages 4 to 14. Each privately taught VIPKID class is 25-28 minutes in duration. I currently am certified to teach trial classes, Unit Assessments, TOEFE primary classes, Levels 2 through 5, and PreVIP. Levels 2-5 encompasses beginner to proficient L2 English learners. I strive to provide a thoroughly prepared lesson which include vivid visuals(online through ManyCam and tangible props in my classroom), extended learning activities and engaging reward systems. I take advantage of the ability to incorporate clipart, gifs, and online worksheets within the online classroom platform. When preparing for my classes, I take into consideration brain-based learning strategies to enhance learning and retention by association. Visuals, props, realia, music, and games are a few of the ways I extend the learning. Total Physical Response( TPR) is also a language assistance strategy which I always use for classes, especially beginner ELLs. For pronunciation, intonation and diction practice, I will include tongue twisters, rhymes and riddles, poems, and dictation exercises. Correcting mispronounced words or phonics, is especially key so as keep these mistakes from becoming fossilized in the learner's brain. I love working for VIPKID, and the opportunity and experience it is providing for me. One of the best parts of this job is being able to form meaningful relationships with your students! Some students I see three times a week. It is a wonderful opportunity to not only teach these students about life in America, but also to have them teach me about their life and culture!
Esl Specialist
We, at Wilson County Schools, use the method of content-based teaching for our ESOL students. I use this method to preteach, teach, and reteach students the same content that they are learning currently during their general education classes. My students currently range from k-8. We do not have an ESOL curriculum, so I must spend a lot of time planning and finding resources for my classes. I must communicate with teachers on an almost daily basis. I also must handle continuous administrative tasks for each student. I educate and train staff on how to effectively differentiate and modify tasks for ELLs. I also administer their yearly ELP test created by WIDA.
Owner/Jewelry Designer
I create hand crafted artisan jewelry which is inspired by Scripture. I have an online shop through Etsy which you may visit at www.esty.com/shop/boundwiththeword or my facebook page located at www.facebook.com/boundwiththeword. I use profits from this ministry/business to bless ministries around the world and missionaries as well as my family. Each piece I create is created with utmost detail and attention. I take great pride in my work. I see it not only as a business but also as a ministry. I have been able to also donate pieces to online adoption auctions and online auctions for orphanages in Africa.
Special Education Ancillary Assistant
Daily assisting one special needs child. Aiding, assisting, organizing, tutoring, mobility assistance, and anything else she needs to continue her progress and to be successful in her studies. I collaborated with the student's teachers and parents to help the child access and complete grade-level content.
