Acknowledge where the student(s) are at mentally in which to adapt or modify academics to help them be successful. Lesson planning to help in learning of the academic material via online classes. Developing positive relationships with the students to build trust and safety in the classroom environment. Work with other paras, teachers, therapist to brainstorm the possibilities of how to best assist the student in the classroom. Attend weekly meetings. Able to problem solve (de-escalate, become aware of triggers, notice patterns of behavior) in students and co-workers.
