In my Fashion Design class I focus on teaching life drawing skills with an emphasis on capturing the folds and textures of fabric draping on the human form. Beyond drawing, my aim is to inspire students to explore broader realms of creativity, delving into art, history, and more. Taught in Japanese. 日本語で教えています。Additionally, I teach a Design + English course, catering to students across disciplines, with the objective of equipping them with language proficiency relevant to design contexts. Whether communicating with international design firms, liaising with manufacturers overseas, or engaging with foreign clientele, my goal is to empower students with the linguistic skills essential for success in the global design industry.As it says in the title this class is taught in English, however I will very occasionally speak in Japanese if absolutely necessary to explain a word or phrase.

Designing garments and accessories using local labour in London until 2017. After moving to Japan I worked with local production in Osaka and Kyoto. All products were made using vintage, second hand, or deadstock clothes and fabric. Previously stocked at Lamp Harajuku and Excube.Custom projects range from renewal with environmentally friendly dye and hand painting to using old materials to make a new garment for a live musical performance.

・ Fashion Revolution - teach university students about upcycling and sustainable fashion design. Using my own experience from my brand, in which I only used reclaimed materials, I introduced students to different sustainable fashion methods and how to technically remake old clothes into something new. From design to making to photo shoots students received my guidance all along the way. Created a web app displaying documentary films exposing the fashion industry at two of our charity shops. I designed the web app from concept, UI, to code using Adobe PhotoShop, GitHub, HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. The web app was responsive, gives customers a better idea of what we are working on outside of the charity shops, and invites customers to respond to the footage they’ve seen.
