Brandy Simison is the Founder of All-Star Academy. An independent private school that is driving a new era of education where curriculum is customized to each students' abilities, interests, and goals. Brandy grew up in a small town and experienced the benefits of small classroom sizes and a tight-knit community. After training as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, she saw that most public and private school classrooms hosted 25 kids to a single teacher, leaving children with emotional or behavioral challenges and/or exceptionalities to not get the support or attention they needed. She witnessed parents having to fight for needed services or feel obligated to have their child undergo indoctrination or education they were uncertain was beneficial or in line with their family values. In 2018, Brandy created All-Star Academy with an innovative idea to promote a child’s holistic development under the direction of their parents/guardians. Her academy boasts an 8:1 student to teacher ratio to allow for plenty of individual attention as well as customized learning plans designed around a child’s profile. Additionally providing unique learning experiences that help build connection to the natural world, including weekly field trips and a husbandry program.
