I left my career in the Christian publishing industry early last year to start a creative agency with my wife, Kate. We’re focused on helping ministries and other Christian non-profits as well as faith-based small businesses to grow using content. We work with these organizations to plan and develop video, websites, books and other first-party digital and physical media to tell their story and accomplish their mission. This emphasis on first-party content creation as a core growth and communications strategy for Christian organizations flows from the success I’ve had pursuing such an approach in the publishing industry.Most Credibility clients sign on for a range of services encompassing brand identity development, content strategy and planning, and content creation.I’m involved in every aspect of growing and managing the agency, drawing on my broad experience in business development, writing and editing, design, marketing, and video production aimed at committed Christian audiences.

In 2016, I took over the reins as Publisher for Lexham under Faithlife’s CEO. I was given the bold task of helping to transform the imprint from an unknown, in-house, digital content generation team to an innovative, respected evangelical publishing house as successful as our peers across print and digital markets—all while approaching things from a completely different market position. With an amazing team, I spearheaded the development of a strong brand identity, a mature and varied (yet still biblically grounded and orthodox) catalog, robust marketing efforts and communications strategy, and entirely new sales and distribution channels.Within five years, Lexham went from virtually unknown in the publishing world to a premium midsized imprint landing world-class authors. Lexham’s titles are winning multiple awards every year from tastemakers like Christianity Today, the Evangelical Christian Publishers’ Association, and The Gospel Coalition. For each of the five years of my tenure as Publisher, Lexham grew approximately 50% year over year in net revenue. We grew 67% in 2020 during the worst phase of the pandemic.After three years as Publisher for Lexham Press, I was asked to lead Faithlife’s Mobile Education department and combined it with Lexham, taking on an additional role as Director of a new Original Content division within Faithlife reporting directly to the CEO. We created the division from the conviction that we could take much better advantage of the tremendous creative and business leverage of first-party content in order to grow Lexham’s and Logos Bible Software’s market share, reputation, and influence among Bible and theology scholars, students, and pastors around the globe.

I began my career at Lexham as an Acquisitions Editor. My role involved signing new authors as well as taking the lead on creating new projects for the Press. This allowed me to draw on existing scholarly networks (from my academic background as well as my time at InterVarsity Press) and to establish many new relationships in the church and the academy. In 2015, this role evolved into being an Associate Publisher for Editorial.

In this position I acquired and developed reference and academic works for IVP Academic and acted as Managing Editor for the Reformation Commentary on Scripture series.
