I remained involved with development of Hatch's smelter power reduction technologies that I worked on in my final co-op term.

As a member of the Hatch Technologies Group, my work focused on innovations used to reduce power consumption, increase current efficiency and extend equipment life in industrial smelters. I guided prototyping of thermal attachments both experimentally and numerically via finite element analysis (FEA). I also led resistance testing of stub-hole conductors and the novel Arc-cast cathode assembly at operating temperatures to aid in continued product design.

At AMD I was in charge of optimizing memory validation testing in thermal chambers. Through continuous analysis and updating of project plans in combination with custom Linux shell scripts, I worked to maximize the efficiency with which we validated graphics cards. I also did a variety of hands on work, reworking graphics memories to solve cold solder issues and handling prototypes.
