As an Engineer in Training with the Specialized Engineering Analysis and Design Group, I continued my work using advanced numerical methods and tools to solve complex industrial problems. I remained involved with development of Hatch's smelter power reduction technologies that I worked on in my final co-op term.

As a member of the Hatch Technologies Group, my work focused on innovations used to reduce power consumption, increase current efficiency and extend equipment life in industrial smelters. I guided prototyping of thermal attachments both experimentally and numerically via finite element analysis (FEA). I also led resistance testing of stub-hole conductors.

During my first two co-op terms at Hatch I worked as a member of the Specialized Engineering Analysis and Design Group (SEAD). In my role I used advanced numerical methods and tools to solve complex thermal-fluid industrial problems that are beyond the scope of classical engineering tools. I primarily aided in the development of computational fluid dynamic.

At Apotex I was in charge of authoring risk assessment documents to determine the worst case products used on a particular equipment line from a cleaning perspective. I also applied my knowledge of VB.NET to automate the data analysis and documentation process for the risk assessment of each product.In addition to risk assessment work, I gained hands on.

At AMD I was in charge of optimizing memory validation testing in thermal chambers. Through continuous analysis and updating of project plans in combination with custom Linux shell scripts, I worked to maximize the efficiency with which we validated graphics cards. I also did a variety of hands on work, reworking graphics memories to solve cold solder.

My time at PRGX was split between developing software to validate large sets of client data in Microsoft Access using a combination of SQL and Visual basic.NET, and solving IT related issues for my colleagues.
