As part of the Enterprise Technology team, I've spent my time dedicated primarily to internal apps related to Workforce Management, integrating with multiple HRIS and automation systems.- Led multiple teams in quickly implementing new features/services under tight deadlines, designing the architecture of those systems, gaining consensus, and guiding the team through their iterative implementation, across services in Typescript/Node, Go, and Java.- Architected a multi-staged data synchronization and event processing system to improve sync performance while guaranteeing data consistency- Brought in tools and techniques to improve our testing practices, from speedy and easy per-test factories to transactional tests, while also introducing patterns for easier testing of new features- Introduced and mentored teams on DevOps best practices, CI/CD design/tuning, and incident response- Improved internal observability tooling in our NodeJS ecosystem to improve overall observability while decreasing cost- Created an internal query language for HRIS data

- Developed internal system for tracking and reviewing customer account usage for sales & renewal purposes- Created a system for easily adding data to structured logs that allows the tracking of arbitrary metrics, alongside improving quality of error/incident reporting- Improved build, deploy, and ops systems for both the Elixir backend(running in Kubernetes) and the React SPA client, to reduce build times, increase code quality, shorten deploys, and ease incident information retrieval- Developed and implemented numerous team process changes, such as required automated testing, feature flagging, enhanced code review, an incident response plan, work priority, and ticket estimation- Upgraded Python-based machine learning training system for parsing and categorizing documents, as well as implementing stability and reliability improvements as well as new features to that and other Python-based event and job processing systems for document processing.

- Helped scale a real-time events system powering webhooks and websockets past 20 million events per week in Elixir/Ruby/Postgres- Architected a new user experience for customizable permissions that included a new framework for product teams to easily add new, more granular permissions while maintaining ease-of-configuration. Additionally, designed and built new applications in Go to support this while we moved to a Service Oriented Architecture.- Wrote and socialized our first engineering-wide approaches to observability, and improved/built internal Ruby and Javascript/Typescript libraries to ease its implementation- Led a group on improving test quality and run times across the organization, and trained QA staff on writing automated tests that were fast and focused on maintaining the user's experience

Built and owned our entire backend platform handling our data intake, Elasticsearch setup and integration, devops and deploy process, and user/social logic for a social network based around donating to IRS-approved charities.Most work done in Elixir, though some in Javascript/React/React Native, Elasticsearch, and various AWS technologies.

At A10's Boise remote office, I helped design and implement new features, user interface improvements, and mentor newer developers in better ways to approach the software development process. Primarily working in Ruby on Rails, with a strong reliance on RSpec and testing methodologies.

Working as a full stack developer, at Doximity my daily actions were in Rails, with time spent in Backbone, jQuery, Elasticsearch, and more, to expand capabilities primarily for customer support and career marketing.

In a small part of UHG called "The Garage", we iterated over new healthcare products and services at a rapid pace. Working with entrepreneurs to help refine their ideas and set the most effective goals, creating their experiences in Rails, to implementing payment processing, SMS notification and data-gathering systems to better enable entrepreneurs and management alike to experiment in weeks the way that was impossible with the larger, more structured flow of UHG at large.

At Apartments24-7, I learned the ins and outs of web development, HTTP, and the agile-based workflow. Utilizing Django, Bootstrap, and jQuery daily, I was able to expand user maintenance tracking and scheduling, create new RESTful APIs, and build new employee task tracking and comparison software, using technologies like Redis. Raphael.js, and D3.js along the way.
