With over nine years of diverse experience in computer science, Brayan specializes in enterprise software engineering, cross-platform development, and data science, particularly in machine learning (ML). He believes his journey is continuously fueled by passion for tackling complex, nationwide, and societal challenges.Technical Leadership and Government Consulting:As a former Technical Lead and Consultant contractor for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (U.S. Customs and Border Protection), Brayan led the software development of over six applications. Starting as a full-stack engineer, his role evolved significantly up to his current position as Lead Engineer / Data Scientist, where he develops AI applications that intersect with Computer Vision and Deep Learning.Entrepreneurial Ventures and AI for Social Good:Brayan is the founder of "Be a Good Bot" (AI Labs) and a Stealth project, both initiated in 2023 with a vision to harness AI for societal benefits. Shortly after launch, "Be a Good Bot" expanded rapidly, growing from a solo endeavor to a vibrant team of over 50 innovators, including students and alumni from Harvard and MIT. The AI Lab's goal was developing 10 AI applications in 10 weeks, which led to the founding a Stealth project. This project leverages Computer Vision to develop novel Vision Transformer solutions and superior design to solve intricate worldwide problems. Academic Excellence and Endurance Sports Enthusiast:Brayan's academic and professional efforts have been recognized with several awards, including 1st place at the George Mason Hackathon and the J.E.B. Stuart Foundation Scholarship. Beyond the world of technology, he enjoys participating in endurance competitions. In 2018 he became a 1.5x Ironman finisher by crossing the 140.62-mile finishing line in Mont Tremblant, Canada. He believes fitness fuels creativity from time to time.Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning:As the Co-Chair of the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs of Boston, Brayan started leading entrepreneurship-focused events and discussions. Previously, he contributed as the Workshop Lead at the Code as a Second Language Summit organized by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, where he combined insights on neuroplasticity with future tech trends.Personal Passions:When taking time off from building software, he revisits hobbies such as playing the guitar, bass, and drums. He also enjoys going on long hikes with close friends to a new national park every year.
