During my internship in Colorado Springs, I encountered challenges with security clearances and navigating highly secure facilities. Despite this, I delved into research on simulation software and databases, including unfamiliar tools like Microsoft Access. Over time, I adapted to the jargon-heavy environment of the Department of Defense (DoD) and engaged in hands-on projects, including troubleshooting issues in Hawaii and Huntsville, Alabama.In Hawaii, I assisted with database management and learned about visualization software like Tableau. Trips to Alabama provided insights into the DoD's Game Lab and its educational tools. Back in Colorado, I tackled tasks involving Tableau server maintenance and SharePoint list management, ensuring smooth operations for my team.

I worked at a summer camp over the summer as the main maintenance worker. I was tasked with jobs I was unfamiliar with and had to learn how to accomplish them efficiently. I also created a schedule for any future maintenance workers to follow that would allow them to complete all their necessary tasks in an efficient manner. All the while I was interacting with kids in order to make the experience enjoyable.

As a farm hand, I was assigned many tasks that pushed my abilities. Often I was forced to work alone without any supervision which pushed me to be a self starter on tasks that I knew needed to get done. When I wasn't working alone, I was working with people whose primary language was Spanish. Although I had only taken some classes in high school, I took my limited knowledge in order to communicate what I needed to in combination with hand motions. I also learned how to be more efficient when doing tasks without much specific instruction.

Prior to getting this position, I received all the required certifications and maintained a proper level of physical fitness. Throughout the summer, I stayed diligent in my surveying of the water, being ready to jump in at any signs of trouble. While other life guards were watching the lake, I entertained the kids at the lake by hosting sand castle building competitions. Closing out each day, I would make sure the lakeside stayed clean, with great attention to small objects left in the sand.
