I'm a fourth-year undergraduate student studying Biomedical Engineering (B.S.) and Philosophy (B.A.) with a concentration in medical microdevices and metaphysics, respectively, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have spent the last three years as an assistant researcher in the Bai Bioelectronics Lab, focusing on developing novel biosensors, electroactive biomaterials, neural interfaces, 3D microprinting techniques, and digital drug delivery devices. In the future, I intend to get my Ph.D. and contribute to neural interface research.

  General Contributions - Managing the CNC machine and 3D SLA printers- Training group members on the proper use of respective software and hardware for both the 3D printers and CNC machines- Developed and characterized a method for 3D printing hollow microneedles on our lab’s printers with a base diameter of 150 microns- Refined the lab’s PCB fabrication techniques leading to a more effective prototyping processIn the past I participated in three different projects: one aimed to develop a digital drug delivery device, another sought to develop an epicardial multisensor, and the last aimed to develop a soft epineural interface to detect signals from neural organoids. In these projects I:• Characterized a strain sensor design for the epicardial multisensor• Synthesized different biomaterials including hydrogels, polyimides, and silicon-based elastomers • Ensured the mechanical properties of the biomaterials were standardized to the literature• Fabricated microneedles with base diameters ranging from 100-250 microns• Fabricated neural interfaces with tolerances close to 30 microns• Preformed electrical property characterizations including cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy • Designed and rendered the drug release device for publication • Developed microscale mold fabrication techniquesCurrently, I am a part of three different projects. One seeks to characterize the electromechanical properties of a novel rigid ion gel material. Another is developing a novel way to print 3D print metamaterials. For the last research project, I am currently leading an interdisciplinary group of ambitious undergraduates in a project that seeks to develop a novel soft-stimulating peripheral nerve interface.
