Leading the manual and automated testing approach for Nando’s new web ordering journey, which included building an automation suite using Cypress with a focus on readability and reusability. This was key, due to fast changing goals of the project as we switched focus between Delivery, Collection, and Order at Table journeys to keep up with demands during the height of the pandemic.Working with Santander to build their money transfer app PagoFX; testing across Android, iOS and the API to ensure parity across the platforms. Particular focus was given to working with third party integrations and error states due to the sensitive nature of the data. Assisted developers in debugging API issues using BigQuery and setting up appropriate monitoring using Postman.In addition to project work, I worked closely with senior leadership to design and iterate on career progression within the company, both the detailed QA progression as well as a higher level template to be applied across all disciplines.

Primarily acting as a testing consultant for a major US Audit company, working as a lead to their own test teams on their primary project management tool which includes several interconnected modules, real-time collaboration, and deep integration with a variety of the company's internal systems. Working closely with both the business and tech teams to:• Understand both teams’ priorities to produce realistic testing timelines and help prioritise items with the PO• Create test strategies for the more complex features and integrations; providing testing guidance for 10+ testers• Define how to incorporate offshore, automation and performance test teams to most effectively use our limited resource and reduce strain on the business team so they can focus on the roadmap ahead• Iterate our Jira process to support multiple streams of concurrent work• Supporting the above with hands-on exploratory testing and high-level feature testing in a development environment to ensure builds are ready to be deployed to the shared test environmentTo help support the team further, I developed my programming and design skills on this project:• Development - maintained a set of programmable business rules using an in house scripting language, updating rules using SQL scripts as requirements are iterated on by the business• Front end development - performed UI bug fixes and improvements to more closely match the intended design• Design - recreated the existing UI in Affinity Designer, then used the existing styles to create mockups of new features for feedback from the businessThe above has resulted in a more efficient, quality-led team in which we have the confidence to shorten our original 6-month release cycle into a monthly release cycle.

Working with these clients highlighted the importance of adapting the standard Scrum process to work with the more traditional way most enterprise clients work.Responsibilities included carrying out functional testing, writing and maintaining test cases, and performing rounds of regression and exploratory testing before releasing to clients.

With Sponge Ltd I worked on several projects with clients including McDonald’s, Barclays and Evans Cycles, whose work includes mobile and desktop websites, mobile apps, and SMS competitions. I was responsible for a variety of testing activities, including test case design, test execution and bug reports for Functional, API and Security testing across a wide variety of mobile devices and desktop browsers, using in-house automation tools where appropriate.
